National Night Out - America's Night Out Against Crime

Tuesday, August 5th - 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Redar Park

The Schererville Police Department is hosting the 10th Annual National Night Out Campaign, Tuesday, August 5, 2014. This event is designed to generate public support and participation for Law Enforcement and Anti-Crime Programs.

We encourage you to come out for some Music, Games, Food and Fun! Leave your porch light on and come celebrate America's Night Out against crime!

Women's Self-Defense Classes

Chief David Dowling and the Schererville Board of Safety would like to invite women at least 18 years of age to our Women’s Self Defense class on Monday July 28th, 2014 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The cost is free.

For the first hour, participants will be in a classroom setting. For the latter part of the class, participants will be asked to perform defensive movements on a wrestling mat in the police department’s exercise room, so please dress appropriately.

Those interested can pick up an application from the records department between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday or click here to print it. We ask that you complete and sign the form / waiver and return to our records division to be eligible. Deadline for applications will be July 25th, 2014. For further information contact Cpl.
